Romantic Crazy Quilt 15.

7 designs for various hoops.

Over the last few weeks during this Covid-19 pandemic, I have been pondering over the situation, wanting to digitise a unique and special design to bring comfort and hope for these days of uncertainty and fear. This is what I have finally created and it epitomizes all we are experiencing and how best to cope with the concern we have for our loved ones. Back at the beginning of the year I wanted to create an embroidery resolution with the words, “Prayer is the greatest expression of love” but it did not feel the right time, however now I believe is the perfect time to remind ourselves of the power of prayer. The irises in this block symbolise hope and faith. There are two in each block and they can be layered with a partial base flower prepared beforehand on net, tulle or sheer fabric using wash away stabiliser. The whole iris can also be added as an applique. Now that there are hoops that are 260mm (10.2”) wide I have created an extra large version of the block for those with these hoops. A detailed 38 page PDF with lots of photographs to help you plan and stitch out your block, comes with these designs. The blocks come in 3 sizes. Check them out in the Specifications tab.

Due to the nature of these blocks I do not advise resizing them as the quality will be compromised and some stitches may be lost causing gaps, which is why these designs are not available for smaller hoops.

Back the pieces of silk dupion before you begin with Heat and Bond Lite, or something similar, to prevent fraying.
