Lace has always intrigued me as there are so many types from various regions in Europe and beyond. However my favourites are not the bulky types frequently found in Free standing lace designs, so I have created the lightest of FSL and also some delicate embroidery which needs to be stitched out on tulle and English net to support it! When sheer fabric holds the stitches together the amount of stitches can be reduced signifcantly allowing the lace to be fluid and light, just like the romantic lace from the past. I have found that the designs in the Regency Whispers and the Rose Gold bridal lace collections stitch out very well on sheer fabrics, so they can be used for making lace. It is my suspicion that many of my other lighter heirloom designs can be used to create lace using net or tulle:- Graceful Jasmines, Dainty Vines, Cassandra’s and Jane’s White work, Une petit princesse, Graced in Petals, Bundle of Joy and the Rachel Kathryn Bridal designs. You will get the best results if you use the very best wash away stabilizer. I use Floriani Wet N Gone.
