The Celtic Heather Collection

These unique designs have been created after studying the Heather family (Ericaceae) in detail along with its habits and the environment in which is grows. There are so many varieties of heather and I had not realised that so many other plants are related, like cranberries, blueberries, azaleas and rhododendrons. As the exquisite flowers are so small I selected Bell heather for my embroidery and have tried to capture the environment of the heath land where heather abounds. The Silver studded blue butterfly is found in some areas where heather grows so you will find this little butterfly in this collection to flutter about the flowers
