When I saw some antique sewing machine clip art from DiddyBag I knew I must digitize at least one of them. To include all the detail I knew that the finished machine embroidery would have to be big, so I created the machine alone to fit an 8″ x 8″ hoop with the floral designs each side fitting the 5″ by 7″ hoop. After a great deal of testing I decided against cutting away the machine for the floral work of fuchsias and roses. This will make it easier to position the floral sprays over each end of the machine, if you do the main embroidery in three hoopings. The colours of the machine are quite subtle and have been carefully chosen and blended. A hint of metallic thread inside the floral sprays and edging the blended scroll work brings the embroidery alive. The machine can be stitched out in a 5" by 7" hoop and there is a seperate zip of designs and a detailed PDF tutorial for this. You will get both zips with this purchase.
